Alarm System Takeover & Switch Monitoring in Central Texas
iSecure 247 helps homes and businesses across Central Texas switch alarm monitoring without ripping out gear that still works. We’ve done this work since 2013, from our shop in Copperas Cove.
This page is about alarm system takeover: keep your existing panel and sensors when they’re compatible, change who monitors the system, and get local service for what you already have.

What an alarm takeover is
An alarm takeover means we look at the panel and sensors you already have. When they’re compatible, we connect monitoring and local service to that gear instead of forcing a full new install.
We assess your existing panel and sensors and reuse compatible equipment where practical. We tell you what can stay after we’ve seen the panel, the sensors, and how the system communicates — not before.
Can I keep my panel?
We assess your existing panel and sensors and reuse compatible equipment where practical. When the panel is compatible and still solid, we keep what works. When it isn’t, we say so and recommend a clean new monitored install rather than forcing a bad patch.
We check panel type, sensor condition, wiring, and the communication path before we promise anything.
That new-install path will live on our monitored alarm systems page when it’s live; until then, start at services or contact us.What we typically do on a takeover
Capabilities only — we assess on site, then decide:
- On-site or scheduled assessment of the panel, sensors, and how the system communicates
- Keep working devices when they’re compatible
- Switch monitoring to iSecure’s monitoring arrangement
- Test zones, then train you on arm/disarm and who to call
- Optional add-ons only if you need them: security cameras, access control
Who it’s for
- Homeowners who already have a panel and sensors and want different monitoring or local service
- Businesses changing providers without buying a whole new system if the gear still works
- PCS and new owners near Fort Hood who inherited a system in a purchase or rental
- Property managers and rentals, where the setup allows it
- Anyone told they “must” replace everything without a real look at what’s already there
Takeover vs new monitored install
- Takeover — reuse compatible gear and switch monitoring (this page)
- New monitored install — design and install a fresh monitored system (monitored alarm systems page — coming; see services for now)
A lot of customers start here and land on one or the other after the assessment. We don’t guess which before we’ve looked.
How a takeover usually runs
- Call or form — describe what you have (panel location, sensors, who’s monitoring now if you know)
- Assessment — photos, model info, or an on-site visit
- Clear yes / no / partial plan — what can stay, what should change
- Schedule the switch and testing
- Confirm monitoring signals and train you
- Ongoing local service after the handoff
Where we work
We’re based in Copperas Cove and cover the Central Texas corridor along I-35 and US-183 — including Killeen, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Temple, Belton, Gatesville, Lampasas, Waco, Georgetown, Round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park, and Liberty Hill. Full map: service areas.
That includes homes and businesses around Fort Hood. For larger jobs outside the usual radius, we run a traveling team — distance is a scheduling question, not an automatic no.
Why local matters
We’ve been in business since 2013. Shop is in Copperas Cove. License TX B18648.
You get a local tech who can come look at the panel — not only a national call script. Same number after the switch as before it.
FAQ
Can I keep my panel and switch monitoring companies?
We assess your existing panel and sensors and reuse compatible equipment where practical. If they are, we switch monitoring and keep what works. If they’re not, we recommend a new monitored install instead of forcing a takeover that won’t hold up.
What is an alarm system takeover?
It’s connecting monitoring and local service to an existing panel and sensors when that gear is still worth keeping. You’re not necessarily buying a whole new system. You’re changing who monitors it and who services it — after we’ve confirmed the fit.
Will you reuse my existing door and window sensors?
Often, yes — when they’re in good shape and compatible with the panel and the monitoring path. We test zones during the switch. Sensors that are dead, damaged, or a bad match get called out in the plan, not left as a surprise.
What if my system can’t be taken over?
We tell you straight and quote a clean new monitored install when that makes more sense. Partial plans exist too: keep some devices, replace others. The point of the assessment is an honest yes, no, or partial — not a sales script that pretends every panel is fine.
Do I need a new contract? What about my old monitoring agreement?
Review your own monitoring agreement before you switch. iSecure helps with the technical handoff panel, sensors, signals, training. We’re not lawyers and we don’t give legal advice on cancelling another company’s contract. If you have questions about your current agreement, read it or ask that provider.
How long does a typical takeover take?
It depends on what we find: panel condition, sensor count, communication path, and whether we’re on site or working from photos first. After the assessment we give you a clear plan and a schedule. We don’t invent fixed timelines before we’ve looked.
Do you serve my city / the Fort Hood area?
Yes for the Central Texas corridor on our service areas page — including Killeen, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Temple, Belton, and the Fort Hood area. Outside that list, call anyway. Larger jobs travel; smaller ones we may still schedule depending on the route.
What’s the difference between a takeover and a new monitored alarm install?
A takeover reuses compatible gear and switches monitoring — when that’s possible. A new install designs and puts in a fresh monitored system from the start. Because most systems aren’t takeable, a lot of customers who start on this page end up on a new install after the assessment. New monitored installs will have their own page when it’s live; until then, see services or contact us.
